ALLEN JOINS CLEAR THINKING GROUP AS MANAGING DIRECTOR IN THE TURNAROUND MANAGEMENT/FINANCIAL SERVICES PRACTICE GROUP
HILLSBOROUGH, NJ (4/1/08) — Veteran CFO and controller Brian C. Allen has joined Clear Thinking Group LLC, headquartered here, as a managing director in the firm's Turnaround Management/Financial Services Practice Group.
Allen, a Certified Public Accountant, brings over 17 years of corporate and public accounting experience, working with public and privately held retail and manufacturing companies. He will be responsible for advising the firm’s clients on turnaround and financial restructuring initiatives and will also manage Clear Thinking Group soon-to-open West Coast office.
Immediately prior to joining the firm, Allen led an independent consulting practice that advised investors on acquisitions, providing due diligence, management assessment and financial modeling. Before launching his consulting firm in 2006, Allen spent over eight years as corporate controller at Wilsonville, Ore.-based retailer G.I. Joe's, Inc. (now known as Joe's Sports & Outdoor), which today operates 30 big-box stores throughout the Pacific Northwest. Prior to that, he was chief financial officer/treasurer at RB Rubber Products, Inc., a publicly owned manufacturer of industrial rubber products headquartered in McMinnville, Ore.
Allen began his career in public accounting in 1990 with Arthur Andersen & Company in Portland, Ore., and later held positions at Perkins & Co., P.C., and Deloitte & Touche LLP, also in Portland, before moving into corporate finance in June 1995.
A resident of Tualatin, Ore., Allen earned a B.S. in accounting from Oregon State University.
