CPA Nathan Lubow Becomes CTG Affiliate

HILLSBOROUGH, N.J. (4/10/07)—Nathan M. Lubow, C.P.A., a leading specialist in accounting for the retail, apparel manufacturing and textile industries, has become an affiliate of nationwide consultants Clear Thinking Group, LLC. 

            “We are pleased to welcome Nate Lubow to our distinguished team of affiliates,” said Stuart H. Kessler, partner and president of the Hillsborough-based firm. “As an affiliate, Nate will work with our partners to present our crisis management, process improvement and creditors rights consulting services to his numerous contacts in the retail, manufacturing and insolvency fields. He will additionally offer consulting support to clients on selected assignments. His long-term experience in working with healthy and troubled public and private companies, as well as in representing both debtors’ and creditors’ committees in insolvency matters, dovetails perfectly with our three practice groups.”  

            Lubow has over 50 years experience in public accounting in New York, most recently with Mahoney Cohen & Company, CPA, where from 1990-2000, as a senior audit engagement partner, he specialized in working with textile, apparel and finance companies. Previously, from 1978-1990, he was a senior audit engagement partner and chairman of the apparel practice committee at KPMG Peat Marwick (and predecessor KPMG Main Hurdman). Earlier in his career, he was a member of the national executive board and audit partner at Clarence Rainess & Co., an audit partner at Aronson & Oresman, and assistant treasurer and chief accounting officer for Arlans Department Stores, Inc.

            A resident of Manhattan, Lubow is a graduate of the University of Chicago and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. An active member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, he has written articles, delivered lectures and conducted seminars on a wide range of accounting and financial topics. He is also a member of the Founders Leadership Council of the Commercial Finance Association’s Education Foundation. Lubow’s public service activities include being the past treasurer of the banking and finance unit of B’nai B’rith, and member of the Board of Directors of the Opera Company of Brooklyn and the New York Alliance Against Sexual Assault. He is also an advisory board member of the Valley National Bank.
